Flag Pillow Kit

The Flag kit comes with a pattern and sufficient yardage of red, white and blue yarn to knit the flag portion of the worsted weight flag pillow.  The background for the flag pillow is one skein of worsted weight yarn in your choice of color, purchased separately.  The pillow is worked using US 8 needles - can be straight or cabled, but note the pillow is worked flat. This is an easy  Katherine's notes: worked as written I generally end up with a pillow that measures 12" wide and 11" tall. This can be easily adjusted if you have a pillow form you particularly want to use. (You could also make your own out of muslin) There is a commonly available 12x12" standard pillow form; using this you might want to knit with bottom and top margins of 2" instead of 1.5" to end up with a 12x12 pillow.  The back of the pillow as written in the pattern is the solid background, but I usually play around with some simple color work.
