Kingston Tweed
Kingston Tweed is a subtle beauty in a palette inspired by nature. Soft and warm, this muted blend of fibers is perfect for textured projects and colorwork. Garments and accessories with a natural look and feel are easy to achieve with Kingston Tweed.
50% wool, 25% alpaca, 25% mixed fibers. Katherine's note: many tweeds tend to be stiffer and tend toward scratchy. This yarn is neither, it's soft to the touch thanks to the alpaca, holds it shape nicely thanks to the wool, and has the lovely subtle flecks that give tweed its classic beauty.  DK makes it the perfect weight for sweaters in the mid-Atlantic and south. Universal offers this patterned yoke sweater: Jay sweater, this shawl: Arum Shawl, and this cowl scarf: Rose Quartz Cowl as a sampling of the lovely items you can create with this yarn.
