Fall Events at Coastal Purl

Good evening everyone!

Here's a first look at some things we've got planned for Fall:

First, we will continue Tuesday Knit Night Out at Pine & Porch, 6-8 pm: October dates are 10/1, 10/15 and 10/29, November dates are 11/12 and 11/26.

Second, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Every finished project worked in Coastal Purl yarn will be entered into a drawing (for prizes!) to be held on Oct. 26th.

Speaking of October 26th (a Saturday), that'll be our Autumn Festival. We're working on some make-and-take projects and of course there will be seasonal treats. Stay tuned, more info to follow.

As folks who are regularly at the shop know, we have a new neighbor in the building - down at the end in Unit D. Weekends, Maddie has a friend who is doing dog training and agility work in the big open space. Maddie is also an artist who does quilling and will be offering classes Tuesdays in October from 5:30-7 pm (also in Unit D). Here's what she's got lined up: Oct.1 - paper quilled Fall cards, Oct. 8 - paper quilled pumpkin patch, Oct. 15 - paper quilled Black Cat, and Oct. 22 - polymer clay charms (bake at home). $30/ class, supplies included. To reserve a spot in the class or FMI contact her at imperfectionzart@gmail.com or text her at 252-617-8405.

We had our first beaded bracelet class with Debbie Zimmerman and it was a lot of fun. We have another class lined up for 10/5. If you were unable to attend either of these classes Debbie is willing to add another, please let me know if you'd be interested.

Mark your calendar for our Christmas party scheduled for Dec. 14th, details to follow.

New yarn is arriving weekly (and notions!), be sure to stop in and check it out. In and ready to go: Urth fingering yarn in gorgeous vibrant colors, Wizard, a plush bulky yarn that is super soft and works up quickly, along with Juniper Moon Fairy Floss, also bulky, and comes in big balls with lots of yardage.  There are new soft DK tweeds from Diamond Luxury yarns and a small but luscious supply of SandnesGarn Alpakka Silke. Arriving early next week - beautiful fur pompoms to accentuate knitted hats!

For my out of town folks - all the yarn is on my website, but if you'd like a personal shopping experience I am happy to text photos of yarn or combinations of color - whatever you need. Just text me at 207-233-6177.

If you are on Facebook or Instagram please like and follow Coastal Purl - I love posting finished projects - they're so inspiring! I also love taking yarn out into the garden, I find that seeing it outside is such an effective way to express color and texture.

Remember, this newsletter comes through my website/point of sale system, so if you want to email me - don't hit reply to this - it disappears to places unknown. Instead, email me at coastalpurl@gmail.com

Kind regards,

Katherine
