Summer update and July schedule
First, the shop will be closed for a little vacation July 6 through July 20. If there's anything you think you'll need for those two weeks, please let me know prior to July 3. I will be here for regular hours right up through July 3. Online sales will also be held for my return because it's just me here.
Meantime, there are lots of fun summer yarns in stock for your seasonal projects, here's a sampling: Coastline is a worsted weight yarn I love for summer sweaters - its a cotton linen blend that is actually knitted on a soft poly core. It's lofty and cool and knits up quickly. That cute bag on my staff member's shoulder is Papagayo, another light beautiful easy knitter. Those flecks of color will add punch to an otherwise simple pattern. The bag is my niece's handiwork. It's darling.
. .
I've got Wonderland Yarns "Alice" DK weight silk and wool blend in stunning colors. This is going to work up into some season spanning items that will reach deep into Fall in our southern climate.
.
This very cute Crimson Tee, a Universal Yarns pattern, is super comfortable in Universal Yarns Bamboo Pop Sock yarn. I have several customers who are working this up, the style is so easy to wear. As you can see it comes in lots of colors.
.
My niece Anna worked up this darling placemat out of Cotton Supreme Waves - she used two skeins and alternated every other row to achieve this pretty effect. It's washable and thick enough to have some substance, yet not so thick that a glass on the edge would feel tippy. She has plenty of yarn for another; easy and quick.
Lastly, I'm now carrying Prym needles. I started with their cable needles - which are bendable! I love them. Their needles also have a patented tip that helps prevent yarn splitting. Their dpns are also longer - 8" so stitches are less likely to slip off. I do also have some of their circulars - the cables are very thin and have no memory so they are a delight. The only issue is that they only come in two leangths - 24" and 32", and they come in limited needle sizes. But if they are a size that you need - they're great!
.
I'll be back and at the shop on July 21, so swing by and show me what you've done!
Kindly,
Katherine
